Many Huawei P50 Pocket Devices Are Reflected With The Folding Screen Error

Huawei’s P50 Pocket folding screen phone launched at the end of 2021 to compete with Samsung’s Galaxy folding phone, which is having screen problems.

Some users reported their screens cracked or no display for less than a month after purchase. Because the product has just been launched, there are not many reviews on Chinese social networking sites like Weibo yet about the error screen of the P50 Pocket.

P50 Pocket is Huawei’s first clamshell phone, released on December 25, 2021. During a product launch event, Huawei was very confident in the quality of the product. However, a month after the launch, the company continuously received reports of screen errors on this phone.

Industry insiders say the P50 Pocket’s display has fundamental quality issues. Huawei used a folding screen from BOE – a Chinese screen manufacturer – instead of a folding screen from Samsung Display. BOE’s products still do not guarantee the same quality as Samsung Display’s.

Repairing the inner screen of the P50 Pocket costs about $677, while the phone’s retail price is $1,400. It can be seen that the repair alone accounts for nearly half of the product’s selling price.

SamMobile pointed out the poor quality of the P50 Pocket hinge in a recent product review. They call Huawei’s product a bad copy of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3.
