For The First Time, India’s iPhone 15 Production Line Starts Outside Of China Before The Announcement

The iPhone has always been mainly produced in China, but in recent years Apple and Foxconn have begun to diversify their production sites. It is reported that this year will be the first time that the production line outside China has begun before the release of the new iPhone.

According to reports, Foxconn has recently started production of the iPhone 15 at its plant in Sriperumbudur, India, and is expected to ship a few weeks after the plant in China starts shipping, shortening the gap between the production lines in India and China.

Before the release of the iPhone 14, the shipment time of iPhones produced in India was about 6 to 9 months later than that produced in China.

This time, mass production has begun in India before the official announcement of the iPhone 15, which shows that its production line is already quite mature. Except for Foxconn. The production lines of Pegatron and Wistron in India will also be put into production soon.

It has also been reported before that Apple plans to increase the proportion of iPhones produced in India to 25{9fa2ae831048424756faedea87f44870cd2ea6d09bcfab62eb5dabc6b233e172} within 2025, and products such as iPads, Apple Watches and AirPods will also start to be produced in India one after another.

In this way, not only can geographical risks be dispersed, but also India’s increasingly stringent local production requirements can be met, and tariff costs can be reduced to enhance the competitiveness of local products.
