The World’s Largest Quadruped Military Robot Made In China Can Walk In The Mountain Desert And Ground Reconnaissance

China has built “the world’s largest quadruped bionic robot”, which looks like a giant yak and can carry up to 159kg. In addition to helping the use of materials, it can also conduct ground reconnaissance.

China’s state media Global Times said China had built “the world’s largest four-legged bionic robot”, calling it a giant mechanical yak that could walk at a speed of 10 kilometers per hour and carry a load of up to 159kg.

Another state media outlet, People’s Daily, also released a video of what appears to be a robotic yak, showing a giant quadruped walking along a dusty slope in the desert, paired with a sturdy robotic arm.

According to the report, the mechanical yak can move forward, backward and diagonally, and can also sprint and jump.Because the mechanical yak can walk in places that are difficult for vehicles to reach, the Chinese military has plans to use it as a tool for transporting supplies such as ammunition and food to mountainous or desert areas.

In addition, the report also pointed out that the mechanical yak can perform ground reconnaissance tasks like drones and can be used as weapons.

The design of the mechanical yak is very similar to the four-legged robot “AlphaDog” funded by the US Department of Defense. Its research and development company Boston Dynamics also produced a robot “BigDog” with a speed of 6.5 kilometers per hour and a load of 154kg in 2005.
