Netflix And Legendary Working On The Development Of Tomb Raider Animated Series

Netflix and Legendary Pictures have announced the development of an animated series based on the Tomb Raider video game franchise. The story of the show will focus on Lara Croft’s adventures following the events of the Tomb Raider reboot trilogy, released between 2013 and 2018.

The series will be written by Tasha Huo, who is behind Blood Origin, Netflix’s prequel to The Witcher. She also served as executive producer alongside Jacob Robinson, president of animation-focused production company Tractor Pants.

In addition to them, the executive producers are three people from DJ2 Entertainment, who shot the movie “Sonic in the Movie”.

The release date of the series has not yet been announced.

For those who are unaware, the Tomb Raider series is being handled by Square Enix, Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal. The trilogy tells the story of the adventures of the treasure hunter Lara Croft, who finds clues about the location of ancient relics and goes in search of them.

But the criminal group “Trinity”, which is chasing treasures in order to get money and power, is trying to prevent her from achieving her goal. The last part of the series was Shadow of the Tomb Raider, in which Lara Croft tries to prevent the end of the world.
